Decapitated – Album Teaser!

On June 20, 2011, in CD / MP3 / EP, New Releases, News, by Loucifer

A preview of Decapitated’s new album, “Carnival is Forever”, is now online. Check it out by viewing the video below:

“Carnival is Forever” will be the fifth album from Decapitated and will be released through Nuclear Blast Records on 12th July in North America and 15th July in Europe. You can pre-order the album from here (USA) or here (Europe).

The track listing for “Carnival is Forever” is:

01 – The Knife
02 – United
03 – Carnival Is Forever
04 – Homo Sum
05 – 404
06 – A View From A Hole
07 – Pest
08 – Silence

Here, guitarist & founding member Wacław “Vogg” Kiełtyka discusses the album title and cover art by Lukasz Jaszak:

“Carnival: war, rape, lies, pathology, evil displayed through certain events and situations of the latest years in the world. Is Forever – I guess it doesn’t need explaining. Both the text and the title are bitterly ironic. The art is very intriguing and quite strange for a metal album but surely staying in memory. A vital thing is that it’s a photo. We did not want any computer graphics this time or anything artificial or plastic. The same regards the production of the album. We had actually been thinking about getting a painting for the cover but unfortunately we couldn’t do it. Maybe next time.”

Decapitated’s line-up includes: Wacław “Vogg” Kiełtyka on guitar, Kerim “Krimh” Lechner (Thorns Of Ivy, Tone Intimacy) on drums, Rafał Piotrowski (Ketha, Forgotten Souls) on lead vocals, and Filip “Heinrich” Hałucha (Vesania, Rootwater, Unsun, Masachist) on bass.

Permanent Midknight Announcement

On June 20, 2011, in Gig, News, by Loucifer

North Carolina’s Permanent Midknight have issued the following statement through their official Facebook page (if you want, you can read the original note by clicking here).

“Permanent Midknight has been around for over 10 years. In those 10 years there have been alot of comings and goings in the band. But there have always been 2 staples in the band who represented Permanent Midknight throughout all these years, Bryan and Clif.

It is with a heavy heart that I have to make this announcment that Clif will no longer be the frontman of Permanent Midknight. There is zero bad blood, nothing personal, nothing like that whatsoever. Clif has decided to shift his focuses on things outside of music.

After a couple year hiatus Clif came to me and proposed we bring back Permanent Midknight, a PMK reboot with all new music and a new attitude. Since then we have been lucky enough to play with some of the best bands around in some of the biggest shows in PMK’s history. I have made great memories with Clif and one day, if he decides to come back to music, I will be the first one to be on board with him. He’s been my best friend for nearly 25 years and it’s going to be a time in my life which I will forever cherish.

With that being said, Friday, June 24th at Bailey’s will be Clif’s farewell show. Whether you are and old school fan or a new fan who just discovered our music, come support and say goodbye to one of the best front men in the music scene. We will also be retiring a bunch of PMK tunes so make sure you are there to hear some of your favorite tracks for the LAST TIME. This is going to be an emotional night, but it’s a celebration, get out and show some support. Fitting enough we will go on at Midnight so make sure you are there early as it’s an all star cast of the best bands around. This show will sell out and you don’t want to be one of these people that are outside wishing you were on the inside to witness this epic celebration.

As for the future of PMK/Permanent Midknight, we are going to move forward. We have 5 brand new songs recorded with superstar producer Kyle Odell, some of which no one has heard because there has been no vocals recorded. We will make an announcment very soon on who is going to fill the spot along with a brand new track to give you a sneak peek at what we’ve been working on for the past year. Our plan is to have a new record ready to release in the fall.

We will see you all on Friday! Thank you all for the support over the years and we cannot wait to for you guys to hear what we have in store for you in the future!

Bryan
Permanent Midknight”

The band have offered up their 2010 EP as a free download – but this will only be available until THIS FRIDAY! If you wanna grab yourself some excellent music head over to PMK’s Reverbnation and Bandcamp pages.

If you’re in the area, make sure you get yourself along to the gig. Since I’m in the UK, I will be incredibly jealous of anyone who does go. If you’re lucky enough to go, please take loads of pictures and make me absolutely green with envy by sharing them with us! :)
