Eastern Front, one of my current favourite Black Metal bands, recently recorded a track (“Holocaust”) for a Bathory tribute album titled “Voices for Valhalla”. The album has been released by Godreah Records.

Visit YouTube to view the “Making of” video, or check it out below.

The video was created and edited by Matt Adamson.

Wolven Ancestry – New Video Online

On June 12, 2012, in News, by Loucifer

A few days ago we mentioned that a new Wolven Ancestry video was on its way… well, the time has come… It’s here!

The video showcases “March Forth Under Tortured Skies” from the band’s most recent album “Silence of the Boreal” and was filmed during the recent Transilvanian Legacy Tour with Negura Bunget. Check out the video below:

Here’s some great news from Colorado’s Death Metal geniuses (is geniuses a word?) Cryogen! The following comment was taken from the band’s official website.

We just got word from our label that a pre-order page is setup for our upcoming Psalms of Deceit remaster. The release date is July 3rd 2012. You can pre-order the digital album, or a limited run physical copy, by clicking the “Buy” button below. Pre-orders include immediate download of two tracks off the album. /w\

You can pre-order this little beastie by heading over to Cryogen’s BandCamp page – and you can have a cheeky listen to a couple of the tracks (and buy them!) by using the widget below:

You can listen to “The Emptiness Within”, the incredible new album from De Profundis (click here to read my review and discover just how incredible I think this album is), via the band’s official BandCamp page… or, alternatively, just use the funky little widget below:

De Profundis were recently featured in an edition of Flying the flag for Blighty’s Metal scene along with several other awesome UK bands. Click here to check out all of the bands featured so far.

In case you’re not familiar with the concept of “Freebie of the Week”, here’s a brief explanation… Each week I go on a little hunt through the vast wastelands of the Internet in search of FREE and LEGAL downloads. So, all of the downloads featured here will be obtainable through trustworthy means… and they’ll be guilt-free. For example, I will only ever feature music available from official band websites, profiles (such as MySpace, Reverbnation or Facebook) and Last.fm (or equivalent).

I’ve featured A Total Wall on this site a few times in the past and so it gives me great pleasure to be able to feature them once again. Especially since they like to give their music away FOR FREE!

The band play technical death metal/djent/ math metal – hell, I’m not sure how to describe them… but, whatever they do, they do it well! Click here to download their new single, “Sentence”. You can also download a bunch of other tracks from here

Info:

A Total Wall was born in March 2009. It took a few months to consolidate their style before starting to work on their debut EP, True Fear, which came out in October 2010. This involved the use of 7-string guitars, some polyrhythmic patterns and the introduction of 8-string guitars in a few songs. On their second work, Incide, they switched to the heavier 8-string sound entirely, adding complexity to song structures and relying much more on polyrhythms.

Line-Up:
Davide Bertolini (drums)
Umberto Chiroli (guitars)
Daniele Belotti (vocals)
