Over the past few months, the Loucifer Speaks forum has gone rather quiet. As a result, I no longer feel that it’s worth keeping it open. With that said… I’m unable to give up on ‘foruming’ completely, so I’ve joined up with Jaz (you may know her from Headbanger’s Haven) to create Metal Tavern.

MetalTavern.com will now become the official forum for Loucifer Speaks. The rest of Loucifer Speaks will continue as normal

With two (experienced) admins, it means that I will be able to balance running the forum along with running this site (including writing reviews and sorting out interviews… and other stuff!) – so this is a really positive thing!

Links to the forum will be added to our menu on here very soon and links to the old forum will be removed. If you have anything on the old forum that you would like to save, please do that as soon as possible.

Please note that old forum posts will NOT be carried over and, providing you would like to join us again, you will need to sign up again.

New Obituary Board on the LS Forum

Ladies and gentlemen, #itsObiTime

No, I haven’t randomly developed an obsession with Obi Wan Kenobi, #itsObiTime is the tag I use on Twitter whenever I post an Obituary related tweet… which is quite often. Anyway, it is most definitely Obi Time now!

I noticed recently that the official Obituary forum over at obituary.cc had been closed down, so I approached the band via their Twitter and asked if it would be OK to set something up on the Loucifer Speaks forum. Luckily enough for me, it was OK…

So we now have a brand new Obituary message board on the Loucifer Speaks forum. Click here or on the above banner to check it out! Since it’s part of the Loucifer Speaks forum, you don’t need to sign up with a separate set of log in details – it’s exactly the same. Or, if you’re new to this – once you’ve signed up to the Obi board, you’re also a member of the overall Loucifer Speaks forum. Good, eh? Oh yeah, and registration is (of course) FREE!

The Obituary Board will be used to talk about all things Obi-related: Albums, gigs, merchandise, Tardy Brothers (there’s even a nice little sub-forum for all TB-related stuff!) – so if you’re an Obituary fan and enjoy posting on forums, this is the place for you!

Well, this little beauty has been running for a while now, so I thought I’d give you all a little bit of an update. If you missed the original post, click here to read it and get up to speed.

Basically, what we’re trying to do here is to create THE definitive list of songs to headbang to.

Top 20 Neckbreakers

Scuzz recently played a countdown of their “Top 20 Songs to Windmill To” and, while some of the tracks featured on the show were fantastic… others were less so.

So, I thought it would be cool if we put together our own list of “Top 20 Neckbreakers” (name changed to protect myself from legal ramifications).

Once we’ve got a list that we’re happy with, I’ll publish it on the site. And then, no doubt, someone else will come along to disagree with it… but hey, it’s all good fun!

Note: To keep track of things, a list of all of the songs suggested so far will be kept in the first post of this thread on the Loucifer Speaks forum. It will be updated as quickly as I can do it!

A Very Metal Xmas (yes, I know it’s only October)

Today the cogs in my brain started turning (this is always dangerous) and I came up with the idea that it would be cool to give the readers of Loucifer Speaks a bit of a xmas present this year. After coming up with ideas like socks and bubblebath, I soon dismissed those came up with the idea of a FREE downloadable album, full to the brim with music from unsigned bands.

So now I’m looking for bands to get involved. If you’re in a band and you would like to have one of your tracks featured on this album – please get in touch. As well as the track (in MP3 format) I also need to know your band’s name, who wrote the track, your band’s website (and any social networks that you’d like us to mention), a photo of your smiling faces and your band’s logo (and any other information that you feel is relevant).

In return for your generosity, we will promote the hell out of your band.

We’ll give you your own board on the Loucifer Speaks forum (if you don’t have one already)
Shout outs on Twitter, Facebook and MySpace
Any news that you’ve got will be added to the site, forum, Twitter, Facebook, MySpace AND our monthly newsletter.
Your tour dates will be added to our Tour Calendar.

Steve from Hamerex recently posted the following details in Hamerex’s board on the Loucifer Speaks forum:

“Just a quick update on the Rites Of Passage recordings and related news.

We’ve just finished our 5th recording session. All the drums are completed unless something disastrous occurs and we’ve finished Steve’s Rhythm guitars in the latest session and I can say after hearing some finished guitars with the tracks it’s sounding awesome. Coming together better than our previous releases, there’s a really good feel, playing and listening back to the tracks and we’re feeling a good vibe while we’re recording with us taking our time instead of being under pressure to get so many tracks done in a set amount of days.

We’ve even thrown a little idea around which we need to discuss a bit more but it would be great if we can make it happen. We’ll keep you informed on progress on recording and the ‘idea’ if it pans out.”

Get Sons of Beaches into the official UK Top 40 charts (& SOB now have a board on our forum!)

Their chances of success are a million to one shot!

Sons of Beaches are a Kidderminster rock band, underdogs and out of luck. But when a chart campaign to get the band into the Uk top 40 begins, the people of Kidderminster (& surrounding areas) must unite and help SOB overcome the mighty Simon Cowell and the publicity machine!

For Cowell and co its a no contest exhibition. For Sons of Beaches it’s a shot at the big time! Under the watchful eye of their manager ‘Lisa Ventura’ the band work hard to “go the distance” against this powerful adversary.

Sons of Beaches are releasing debut single ‘Turn me on’ on September 27th and need everybody’s help to make the single a hit!

We need everybody to buy the single online or in single format.

We need everybody to invite every single one of their friends to join this group and do so too!

If you know any DJ’s, reviewers, Journalists etc.. Get them in touch we need their help too!

We need to sell a massive 3500 copies in the opening week to stand a chance! A difficult task but possible nevertheless.

We are planning a series of free shows to promote the campaign (Details to be confirmed)

*50p from every CD sale will go to The Proton Effect cancer charity
