The mention of bourbon in the intro track definitely got my attention because I do enjoy the odd tipple! Once the intro track's done talking about one of my favourite beverages, "Malleus Maleficarum" blasts into your consciousness like a punch to the chin. This is music to get the adrenalin pumping! The almost rock 'n' roll feel to "Float" is an awesome
touch and you can't help but move along to it. This has become my favourite track on the EP - perhaps even my favourite track of the day! This one's definitely going to be getting more than a few listens! The bass sound on "Absence of Sound Mind" is also worthy of a mention.
The vocals are typically growled throughout, although there are the odd sung parts which lend the music a slightly older feel and create a feeling that this would be excellent 'drinking music'. Overall, Bride Of The Monster have created a .er.. Monster with this EP. I'm very keen to find out more about them and I'm already crossing my fingers for a full-length. This EP is available as a free download from Gomek.com - I recommend any DM fan to check it out. What have you got to lose? Grab some bourbon, throw this on and become seduced by the Bride Of The Monster.
