My day at work today is inexcusably bad. In fact, it's just downright depressing.
So, since I'm stuck here for another couple of hours, I thought I'd throw on some
music. I could have gone one of two ways with my musical choices today - I could
have gone for something angry (but then I may have wanted to do something
destructive... and that's how fires start) or I could go with something fun. You'll
be (or rather, the people that work in the same building as me) pleased to know that
I went with the latter.
Chrome Division is what happens when members of Dimmu Borgir, Ashes To Ashes and Minas Tirith come together to play some dirty rock 'n' roll..... and it sounds damn good. One word that jumps into my head when I listen to this album is "Motorhead" and I feel that the Chrome Division guys have done all of their influences justice with this album.
"Doomsday Rock 'n' Roll" is drenched with fantastic riffs and filthy bass lines. The vocals, courtesy of Eddie Guz fit the music perfectly. This is the kind of music that makes you want to throw on you leather jacket, tie a bandana around your head and drink heavily... Not that makes much difference to me anyway.
As some of you already know (since I've mentioned it on the forum and in a few forums), I'm currently trying to learn bass (although I have to admit to going through a bit of dry spell at the moment), but songs like "Till The Break Of Dawn", "Hate", "The Angel Falls", "We Want More" and "Trouble With The Law" really make me want to throw this computer out of the window, steal a Harley to ride home, pick up my bass and crank the amp up to ten. The temptation is almost too easy to give into...
Hmm... so I did nearly end up doing something destructive anyway.... Ah well....
