Review
This is a strange album... a very strange album...
While listening to "Already A Legend" I really get the feeling that I'm missing the point. I'm sure there are literally hundreds of people out there who can put this on and be drawn into it immediately, but – sadly – I can't.
I can, however, appreciate that there moments of greatness here. The complex nature of the songs is often mind-blowing and I don't question the ability of the musicians in the band at all. The music here drifts somewhere in the gap between hardcore and death metal and it has a strong experimental/progressive edge. HNA can definitely do the brutal thing... but so can so many other bands.
But, something about this album leaves me feeling cold. There's nothing here that I can really grab onto. This may because this type of music just isn’t for me. Maybe when listening to this album I'm trying to find something that just isn’t there... or isn’t meant to be there in the first place.
