When I received this EP it was accompanied with a press pack that cited Beyond The Grave as one of the North of England's premier Metal bands and, I've got to admit, before I listened to the CD I was a little bit sceptical. I mean, how many times have we been promised something amazing like that, only to come away severely disappointed. Thankfully, Beyond The Grave don't let you down. Their riff-heavy, aggressive yet melodic brand of metal really stands heads and shoulders above many other bands of the same ilk. Beyong The Grave really do seem to live up to the hype.
The EP opens with "Before My Eyes" which is a brilliant example of a song about defiance if ever there was one - "So I will have everything you owe me and I will take everything you took from me". It definitely has the makings of an anthem. Could Beyond The Grave be one of the crowd pleasers at forthcoming festivals or arena tours? Quite possibly. There's very little not to like here. If you like aggression - this band have it, if you like a good sing-along - this band has it, if you like plenty of opportunities to bang you head - you guessed it, this band has them!
This is a very strong and solid EP. I look forward to hearing more from this band.
