Guess what... I found out about yet another band on MySpace. I probably spend altogether too much time on that social networking site, but - hey - my CD collection has never looked healthier.
It was pretty much agiven that "Pave The Way" would find it's way into my collection. I'd been listening to the band's tracks on their profile and watching their video for "Generations Fall" on YouTube so many times that it seemed only right that I should actually splash out on an album... and a shirt... and a poster. We may be in a recession, but it was a good deal... and Metal is an essential - along with bread, milk and Jack Daniels.
"Pave The Way" is full of Thrash metal tracks that have the capability to make your brain explode. After just one listen to the album, I was hooked. It's intense and aggressive when it needs to be, but there are also moments of reflection such as the amazing "God As My Witness". This track combines superb lead guitar, thought-provoking lyrics and a good few Thrash attacks.
Tracks such as "Generations Fall", "Worn Thin", "Blessed By Death", "Dying Breed" and the aforementioned "God As My Witness" really make Flatline stand out from the crowd. This is a band that I'll definitely be keeping my eye on in the future.
