Mass Obliteration I received this CD a while ago, but somehow it got lost in alternate universe that is my bag. Luckily I found it again today, so I thought I'd take some time out to review it. My apologies go out to the band for taking so long with this!

The best way to describe this album is simply; "Heavy as fuck". Everything about it just seems big and the band seems to ooze confidence. I received this release on a CDR and to say that I was surprised by the production is an understatement. I was expecting something 'tinny', but instead my eardrums were met by an incredibly full sound. The drums really benefit from this.

The album opens with "Shrine of the I pt. 1". The slow chugging riff in the intro brings about the notion that something ominous is just around the corner... and, as the tempo picks up - you realise that this is right.

"Supremacy" and "Balls Torture for Preachers" are completely in your face and the bass really stands out. The vocals definitely belong in the realms of Death Metal, but just one look at the lyrics tells me that this band definitely fall more into the 'Blackened Death Metal' category.

This 3-piece band is definitely worth keeping an eye on...
