I've been meaning to review this EP since I featured "Money Zombie" on one of the Loucifer Speaks podcasts... So, first all all, I'd like to apologise for how long this has taken!
Cobwebs are a 5 piece rock band based in Sheffield (UK). They give their influences as Velvet Revolver, Sisters of Mercy and Iron Maiden and it is easy to see where each of these bands fits into Cobwebs' sound when listening to this EP. It is, however, the Gothic Rock influence that seems to stand out the clearest for me.
"Butterfly Suicide" is a compelling selection of songs that will worm their way into your skull so that you'll be humming them for days on end. The tracks are heavy enough to keep the metal fan in me happy, while the goth/rock vocals give the songs an instant accessibility.
Cobwebs are definitely a band to keep an eye (and your ears!) on!
