I had planned to see Devilish Impressions on the 28th November, but unfortunately that gig was cancelled. As you can imagine, I was over the moon when I found out about this show.
Once I got inside the Electrowerkz, things didn?t get off to a good start. This was my first trip to the venue and I was less than pleased with the price of drinks there? especially when they were served in cans. I find it ridiculous that venues can charge around £3 for something that I can buy for £1 in a normal shop. I probably would have been happier if the cans were actually cold.
When Devilish Impressions took to the stage I was unbelievably excited. I?d had the bands debut, ?Plurima Mortis Imago?, on an almost constant rotation since I bought it and I was keen to see and hear what they were like live.
Devilish Impressions stayed true to the CD as much as possible and the sound quality of the venue complimented them very well. I had been worried that some aspects would over-power others, such as the keyboards, but I?m pleased to say that it sounded perfect. The lighting of the show was also excellent and I was impressed by the way that Quazarre?s face was lit up in two different colours (green and red ? one colour for each side of his face). I?m not sure if this was intentional or an accident, but either way it provided another element to the show.
Devilish Impressions is definitely a band to watch out for and I have already heard that the band is due to play another gig in London in February, along with some other favourites of mine ? Thus Defiled. I can?t wait!
