During my week off I found out about a band called A Road Eternal. Well, when I say 'found' I mean I happened to notice a bulletin on MySpace from someone recommending them. A Road Eternal (or "ARE" for short) hail from Sharon in South Carolina and spend their time playing relentless metal. I got to talking to one of the members through MySpace (unfortunately I still don't know which one it was!) and he agreed to do an interview for me...

Lou: Where does the name A Road Eternal come from?

ARE: This name symbolizes where we feel like we're headed.

Lou: How would you describe your music?

ARE: A fair mix of all metal and a few melodies to keep those panties droppin !

Lou: Can you sum up the band in 3 words?

ARE: Black/Death/Core

Lou: What kind of subjects do you like to write about?

ARE: Bad love and everyday occurences.

Lou: How long has the band been together?

ARE: Just over two years.

Lou: Which bands have been your biggest influences?

ARE: Soilwork, Job for A Cowboy, Black Dahlia Muder, Pantera and many more.

Lou: What were the first and last albums you bought?

ARE: Metallica era and prob. The Human Abstact(Nocturn)

Lou: Do you have any embarrassing albums in your collection?

ARE:Yeah HaHa, Frank Zappa's stuff

Lou: Do you have any albums available and are they available on CD or just download?

ARE: Oh Yeah!! You can get a CD!!

Lou: Do you think that the days of the CD are numbered? I'd hate it if that happened... they're going to have to drag me kicking and screaming into the realms of downloading!

ARE: The feeling here is mutual. People would rather download now than buy cds, sucks.

Lou: What is your favourite A Road Eternal song and why?

ARE: Broken Mirrors, cause its hard hitting.

Lou: Do you have any tours/gigs coming up?

ARE: We have many gigs at the moment, check the site for venues.

Lou: Do you have any plans to tour in Europe?

ARE: As soon as we get a chance!

Lou: Do you play any cover versions in your sets?

ARE: NO, used to.

Lou: What is your favourite thing about playing live?

ARE: The crowds' response!

Lou: Which ARE song do crowds really like?

ARE: The Meanest two Inches, Vengence Is Born.

Lou: Have you made any promotional or live videos? If so, are they available online to watch?

ARE: We have a clip on our booking site and Youtube, and a lot of footage stuck on cam

Lou: Do you have any plans to make any promotional videos? If so, which song would you make one for? (My vote goes to "Lucky" - that song ROCKS!)

ARE: Broken Mirrors. Lucky'd be cool also.

Lou: If there was going to be a movie made about the band, who would play you?

ARE: There aint a crew as ugly as we are!

Lou: What would be on the soundtrack of the movie? (You can include your own stuff!)

ARE: Probably some chaotic music like the Dillenger Escape Plan

Lou: Do you have any t-shirts and stuff available? If so, where can we get it from?

ARE: We carry shirts at the shows along with cds and stickers
