I know it’s unbelievable, but I’ve actually managed to get a Freebie of the Week on here on a Sunday! I feel that a celebration is in order… that’s why this is the first of TWO freebies for today. Don’t say I never give you anything…

In case you’re not familiar with the concept of “Freebie of the Week”, here’s a brief explanation… Each week I go on a little hunt through the vast wastelands of the Internet in search of FREE and LEGAL downloads. So, all of the downloads featured here will be obtainable through trustworthy means… and they’ll be guilt-free. For example, I will only ever feature music available from official band websites, profiles (such as MySpace, Reverbnation or Facebook) and Last.fm (or equivalent).

With their acoustic Southern / Blues Rock, Pariah Mountain may not seem like the obvious candidate for a feature on Loucifer Speaks… but, hey, I like ‘em. So there :P
Pariah Mountain features Eddie “E-Rock” Cousins on bass (formerly of Black Ritual – I really miss that band!) and Shane Smith on guitars and vocals. The band are currently looking for a drummer, so if you’re in the Charlotte, NC area, please get in touch with them.

Pariah Mountain currently have two tracks available to download. Grab ‘em from the Reverbnation widget below:

Info:

There’s not a whole lot of info available about this band yet (except that they used to be called the Dead South Poets), but keep an eye on the links below to keep up to date.

Line-Up:

Shane Smith – vocals, guitars
Eddie “E-Rock” Cousins – bass
Currently looking for a drummer

Black Ritual split up

On March 6, 2011, in News, by Loucifer

NC’s Black Ritual have decided to call it a day. The following message was taken from their official Facebook page:

Black Ritual is no longer
by Black Ritual on Saturday, 05 March 2011 at 18:56

I unfortunately regret to say and announce that BLACK RITUAL is no longer, some members have decided to part ways with the rest… due to creative differences and the future of our music, along with personal issues. It’s a sad day. It’s been 7 years and 5 for me… we apologise to all our fans and and everyone who has supported us all these years. (amos southend and tremont music hall )
.you and all the bands will always be in our hearts…\m/…

the Black Ritual name could stay on, I do not know, we love and wish all the members of this band the best of luck with their lives and the future of their music.

WE WILL ALWAYS BE BROTHERS AND FRIENDS

I’d like to wish all of the guys the best of luck in whatever they decide to do next!

The band’s album, “1000 Yard Stare”, is still available from CD Baby. Click here for more information and to buy it.

Black Ritual Update: New Members

On December 2, 2010, in News, by Loucifer

North Carolina Metalheads Black Ritual have issued the following update on their official Facebook page.

Without further ado… Black Ritual would like to welcome our newest members into the family? No!! Not really because they have been in the family for a long time now… so we feel very lucky to be at the point we were or are and to be able to snatch up two very talented and seasoned musicians on such very short notice… which is almost impossible now days.

Jon Calebro on guitar (original Black Ritual member)
Jake Hawthorne on drums..

Both from “Rex -84″ and various other bands and projects — you’ve probably seen them with us or playing live with there own shows around Charlotte. So please welcome them with horns high and beer flying…

We are all good friends and are lookin forward to the changes we undertaking… it’s gonna take alot of work for all of us… to incorporate the new styles and learn a lot of songs and a whole CD’s worth of music — to keep the famous Black Ritual sound that we are not letting die!! We have been practicing for a while now and it is going way better then we could have dreamed of… its a good mix of professionalism and musical taste and opinions… soooo FUCK YEAH!!!! We’re ready… so keep your eyes pealed, ears open and horns ready for our explosion back into the scene… be ready because it is coming full force and in your fucking face as always.. we’re pushing forward… 100%

P.S Yeah we know the CD has taken two years… wow… really has, but all of us have been through a lot of shit that has held us back from gettin this fn thing done. We’ve gone through so many ups and downs these past 6 to 7 years… so many faces come and gone and come and gone… physicaly and mentaly… we’re no young bucks but we got heart and we are right on the last leg waiting to get vocals done and then solos and to send it off to Jamie King… We are still moving forward with this all the way… but with the holidays approaching it’s gonna hamper things a little more… but its nothing we aint used to… Don’t think we dont want it because we do more than anyone alive.
Hopefully we will be playing shows again soon in a couple months.

we are breaking this curse set on us…

Thanks Black Ritual
