“Simulacra” by Devilish Impressions is now available to pre-order

The long awaited album from Devilish Impressions is now available to pre-order… and, if it’s anything like the band’s previous efforts, it’s going to be a slab of Avant-garde Blackened Death Metal mastery!

“Simulacra” can be pre-ordered from the Icaros Records webstore and will be packaged within a 3-winged digipack along with a 16-page booklet. Michal ‘Xaay’ Loranc (Nile, Kamelot, Vader, Behemoth, Necrophagist etc.) has provided the artwork for the booklet. The album features guest appearances from Lestath (METransamissionAL), Flumen (Asgaard), Roman (Lecter) and Jacek Grecki (Lost Soul).

The album will be released in Poland on the 21st March 2012. The band are currently looking for another label to release the album internationally.

“Icaros”, the promotional track from the “Simulacra” album can be now heard on the band’s Facebook and the recently created MySpace profile.

Devilish Impressions: “Simulacra” release date confirmed

The new, highly-anticipated album from avant-garde Blackened Death Metallers Devilish Impressions, “Simulacra” is set to be released in Poland on the 21st March 2012 on Icaros Records. The record will come out as 3-winged digipack along with 16-pages booklet with an amazing artworks created by Michal ‘Xaay’ Loranc (Nile, Kamelot, Vader, Behemoth, Necrophagist etc.).

In Poland “Simulacra” is going to be distributed by Metal Mind Productions. The album will also be available on Icaros Records Webstore, also in pre-sale as special packs including band’s additional limited merchandise and/or the CDs out of the band’s back catalogue.

Soon Devilish Impressions will be searching out for other labels to release their new record worldwide.

Shameless Promotion

Lately it seems that the only way for a band (or film, or author, or artist) to make it is to promote themselves like crazy. I, for one, am all for a bit of shameless self-promotion, which is why I’m writing this.

There are a number of projects (both music related and not) that I believe need a bit more exposure, and I’m sure that there are many more out there. So, if you in a band trying to get your name heard, making a film, trying to sell your self-published book (or, hell, a traditionally published book!) or whatever, then please leave a comment below with a link to your band or project. My plan is to then try and promote as many of you as I can on here, Facebook and Twitter. Sound good? Of course it does!

To get started, I’d like to point you in the direction of a few of the projects/bands that have really caught my interest… I’ve chosen to do seven because everybody does lists of 5 or 10 and I wanted to be different…

#1 Metal Meowlisha
Two things that are close to my heart are Metal and cats – so this was bound to appeal to me! Metal Meowlisha is a couple of metalheads who really love cats… and take care of more than 130 homeless cats on the streets everyday. Donald Tardy (Obituary) and Heather Tardy are committed to caring for feral cats in more than 20 spots or ‘colonies’ each day, 365 days a year. #2 Devilish Impressions
It’s no secret that I’m a MASSIVE fan of Devilish Impressions, so I’m more than happy to help them get a little more exposure. The band are putting together the finishing touches to their forthcoming album, “Simulacra”, and I’ve been lucky enough to hear some tracks from it. AMAZING stuff! #3 Indywood Films
If you follow me on Twitter, then you’ve probably seen me talking about this project and retweeting the hell out of the stuff that the project’s mastermind, Ad Lane, posts. Ad Lane / Indywood Films is creating a 100% fan-funded horror film called “Invasion of the Not Quite Dead”. The film is set to go into production this year and, if you want to be a part of zombie history, donate to the project and become a producer (there’s a LOAD of perks tied in with doing this! #4 Spectral Press
I recently received my first chapbook from Spectral Press and it’s a thing of absolute beauty! Spectral Press is a publisher, on a quarterly basis, of very limited edition signed and numbered single story chapbooks in a quality presentation, and devoted to ghostly/supernatural tales. #5 Misantrof ANTIrecords
This is a site that offers free and, most importantly, LEGAL downloads from some fantastic bands. I owe this site for helping me to discover PLAAG and Episode 13 – two fantastic bands! Interestingly, despite having got PLAAG’s album for free, I have since bought it on CD – just because it’s so good and I wanted to show my support even more. #6 Spine Extraction
Spine Extraction are one of the hardest working bands when it comes to self-promotion that I have ever come across. They are constantly keeping in touch with their fans and letting us know what they’re up to. Plus, their album is awesome. Here’s a band that’s about to knock the Death Metal world on its head! #7 Saille

The first promo track from Devilish Impressions’ forthcoming “Simulacra” album is now online! The track can be heard on the band’s official Facebook page. Just head over to the page and click on the “BandPage” tab. The track is called “Icaros”.

It is scheduled to be released in Poland in early 2012 via Icaros Records as exclusive 3-winged digipack with the logo and the lucifer statues on the front cover embossed along with 16-pages booklet. All artworks, layout and design by Xaay (NILE, KAMELOT, VADER).
It has not been confirmed yet which label is going to release it worldwide.

The band has been recently confirmed to take part in a number of 2012 summer open-air festivals. Dates to be announced soon.

Devilish Impressions reveal album art & track list

It’s no secret that I’m a HUGE fan of Poland’s Devilish Impressions, so it should come as no surprise to find out that I’m currently very (VERY) excited. In fact, I’m been maintaining this insane level of excitement since Christmas Day when the band revealed the following news…

Above you will see the artwork for Devilish Impressions’ forthcoming opus, “Simulacra”. The cover was created by Michał ‘Xaay’ Loranc (among others NILE, KAMELOT).

In addition to revealing the cover art, the band have also given us the track list:

“Simulacra” will see the light of day in the first months of 2012 via Icaros Records, probably as an exclusive 3-winged digipack with the logo embossed and the lucifers’ statues on the front and a 16-page booklet.

Just to remind you, that on the album you’ll find the work of Flumen (ASGAARD) and Lestath (METransmissionAL) – both in charge of sampling and extra effects. Devilish Impressions’ Quazarre gives album update

Devilish Impressions frontman Quazarre has issued the following update regarding the artwork for the band’s forthcoming album.

“Hey devils! Just to let you know we’re nearly done with the new album’s cover art. I’m really excited we’ve finally managed to find an appropriate vision of the album’s lyrical concept and just can’t wait to see its final version. Simulacra is full of symbolic thoughts and ideas that may easily be taken on from a hell of a different perspectives, leaving room for your own interpretation…
Enough to say, Xaay has perfectly understood our concept, therefore it all goes pretty smoothly. I believe we’ll soon be able to give you something that’s pretty unique on all possible levels.”

DEVILISH IMPRESSIONS: Album Artwork info

Yesterday avant-garde Blackened Death Metallers Devilish Impressions announced that there had been a small setback with the graphics for their forthcoming album. However, they can now confirm that the ‘Simulacra’ album cover art and its layout are currently being created by Michał ‘Xaay’ Loranc, known from his works for Nile, Behemoth, Kamelot, Decapitated, Vader and Necrophagist among others.

Xaay commented:

New artwork is gonna surprise all listeners who are familiar with the band. We are preparing a cover which has completely different vibe than the former ones. You can expect an eclectic form and a high contrasts, more common to the other music genres

Just as the band’s new photo session taken by Kamil Kumpin, the ‘Simulacra’ artwork is set to be an alternative to the most of black/death metal productions around.

Quazarre (Devilish Impressions frontman) has added the following comment:

We’re really excited to work on that with an artist of such class. I know it’s been ages since we started the whole ‘Simulacra’ journey, yet believe me, putting so much into it so far, had only made us sure we’ve got to do absolutely everything, so the final result could be truly outstanding

Devilish Impressions – Orion and Jacek Grecki to guest on album

Polish Avant-Garde Blackened Death Metallers Devilish Impressions have posted another update about their forthcoming album on their official Facebook page:

Orion (BEHEMOTH, VESANIA) & Jacek Grecki (LOST SOUL) among the special guests on the “Simulacra” album

Yep, that’s right, folks! While Jacek has done an amazing lead on “Vi Veri Vniversum Vivus Vici”, Orion took over parts of Mephistophilis on “Prince of The East”, entirely based on “The Tragical History of Dr Faustus – 1604″ by Christopher Marlowe – comments the band’s mainman, Quazarre. Since “Prince of The East” cannot be considered a regular track, it will most likely land on the special, extended version of the album.

Other guests that appear on the album are: Flumen (ASGAARD) and Lestath (METransmissionAL) – both responsible for all orchestrations, samples and additional effects. Roman Bereźnicki (LECTER) is the last one who left his mark on the album by adding some bass guitar on one of the tracks as well as parts of acoustic guitar on two others.

Just to remind you, the “Simulacra” album, recorded, mixed and mastered at different places in 2010 / 2011 (Strobo Studio, Studio X and Hertz Studio) is scheduled to be released in Poland on the first months of 2012 via Icaros Records. Since the band’s still working on the new album’s covert art / graphics it has still not been confirmed which label’s going to release it worldwide.
