No, I haven’t randomly developed an obsession with Obi Wan Kenobi, #itsObiTime is the tag I use on Twitter whenever I post an Obituary related tweet… which is quite often. Anyway, it is most definitely Obi Time now!

I noticed recently that the official Obituary forum over at obituary.cc had been closed down, so I approached the band via their Twitter and asked if it would be OK to set something up on the Loucifer Speaks forum. Luckily enough for me, it was OK…

So we now have a brand new Obituary message board on the Loucifer Speaks forum. Click here or on the above banner to check it out! Since it’s part of the Loucifer Speaks forum, you don’t need to sign up with a separate set of log in details – it’s exactly the same. Or, if you’re new to this – once you’ve signed up to the Obi board, you’re also a member of the overall Loucifer Speaks forum. Good, eh? Oh yeah, and registration is (of course) FREE!

The Obituary Board will be used to talk about all things Obi-related: Albums, gigs, merchandise, Tardy Brothers (there’s even a nice little sub-forum for all TB-related stuff!) – so if you’re an Obituary fan and enjoy posting on forums, this is the place for you!

Skull Hammer will be releasing their brand new album “Pay It In Blood” very soon. Here’s what vocalist/guitarist had to say about it:

We are very proud and excited about completing our 1st full-length CD “Pay It In Blood” featuring 10 all-new tracks. Recorded where “Fear The Truth” was done at White Studios with producer Jim Foster and Engineer Anthony “Antman” Lewis, this album is a progression from the 1st EP. Slightly “thrashier” and with an even bigger sound production-wise, this CD is guaranteed to blast some heads off. 1st 100 copies will include signed 11 x 17″ color poster!
-Of course each CD includes 8 panel fold-out with color photos and full lyrics.

Sadly, over the past few months things have gone a little quiet over there. So, I’ve come up with a few possible solutions and I’ll seriously look into any feedback I receive on this.

Option #1 - Do away with the forum completely. Now that you can comment on reviews, interviews and other stories directly is it worth keeping the forum?

Option #2 – Keep the forum, but tidy it up a bit. If I was to do this, I’d be looking for one or two people to take an active ‘staff’ role on there. And, by active, I mean post more than once a week

Option #3 – Get one of those forums that can be intergrated into WordPress. I’ve been looking into these today and I’m relatively tempted. The only problems are that users can’t have signatures and it doesn’t show your post count. Post counts aren’t all that important, but hey – it’s fun.

Option #4 – Start afresh with the forum. If you like this option best, please recommend which software I should go for. ProBoards has treated me well over the past few years, but I’m open to change.

Please note that with Options #3 and #4, any posts made previously will not be transferred over.

I will be posting this (or, at least, links to this) on Facebook, Twitter and MySpace… as well as the forum itself… so I’ll be keeping an eye out for replies in all of those places. Additionally, you could always drop me an email or just post a comment here. I like comments. They make me feel special.
