I’m a bit late with posting this… but hey!
As posted on antichristmas2012.misantrof.net
If you’re reading this, doomsday is cancelled, or who knows? Maybe the Armageddon will come later today. So either you want to celebrate the fact you are still alive, or you want to die happily later today, this is the only soundtrack you need.
Our sole concern is that it seems we’re about to get another money based Christmas. Once again. Christmas has now lost whatever religious significance it had to all but a small handful of people, and it has become a sick orgy of exploitation where everyone is encouraged to spend money to buy stuff they don’t need and probably cannot afford. We just want to give everyone something for free, and hopefully at the same time make people sit back and realise that there are ways to have fun that do not require vast sums of money.

Black Hearted Black ‘n’ Rollers Plaag will be taking part in the Misantrof ANTIRecords Anti-Christmas compilation once again this year.
The following message was posted on the band’s Facebook page:
UGH nasty ones!
Plaag’s contribution to this year’s Holy Fucking Anti christmas compilation by Misantrof ANTIRecords is entitled ‘All Shall Be Forgiven’ and is yet again a sarcastic attack on this annual global misconduct.
Also, something extra to look forward to on this track: the appearance of a Norwegian guest musician who’s identity shall remain secret …for now
\m/Insane amounts of hails to you guys ‘n gals out there!

MISANTROF ANTIRecords releases second EP of PLAAG
This is sort of another freebie for this week, but it’s so much more than that… It’s Plaag! I LOVE PLAAG!!!

PLAAG’s second EP titled “IRONIC TWISTS AND TALES” is the natural follow up to the full length album “UGH!” released on Misantrof ANTIRecords in 2011. This is hellish rock’n'roll just like you would except from this notorious band. This release also introduce the new member “NEGATIV” on vocals. Together this duo sounds better than ever.
Mastermind Somber Von Plaag, states, talking about this last effort:
“IRONIC TWISTS AND TALES” Ep is a collection of 6 songs each dealing with misanthropy in their own way, both NEGATIV and me approached the subject from various angles ranging from sarcasm to a more serious view on the matter.
“IRONIC TWISTS AND TALES” rocks so hard. Musically the EP feels like a natural evolution of their first release. Their sound is nasty, ironic, catchy and as raw as it could be, setting it as a superb example of how black metal can be taken down to its rock ‘n’ roll roots.
The great news on “IRONIC TWISTS AND TALES” is the new additional vocalist and songwriter Negativ, taking the whole project to a higher and nastier level. Negativ strikes down from the cradle of Black Metal, Norway, and he gives this extra touch of frozen freelings typical of scandinavian black metallers.
Behind the switches and amps there are two further geniuses: FREDRIK FALK, who also fought the obscure battles side by side with NATTEFROST on the ‘KREFT’ EP took care of the mixing, while the mastering was superbly crafted by DANIEL VRANGSINN of CARPATHIAN FOREST, VRANGSINN, etc.
Both provided PLAAG with the spot on sound to make this band sounding the way it should meant to be, the way the artist had in mind. These for dark damned souls are looking forward to work together in the the future, because what they can spawn is absolutely infernal.

Norway’s “Blackened Death metallers” VOMIT have released their cult album “STILL ROTTING” in Misantrof’s historical music archives to celebrate the anti-label’s fifth anniversary. “STILL ROTTING” consists of rehearsals and demo recordings from the late 80′s that had previously only been released in limited editions on CD and Vinyl.

VOMIT is considered to be one of the very first proper death metal bands in Norway and once shared members with MAYHEM. VOMIT has has been cited as an major influence by Fenriz of Darkthrone. VOMIT also did a semi-official bootleg rehearsal split-tape with Mayhem that was released by Euronymous and sold via Helvete. It included a rehearsal from November 1986 while another more recent bootleg split includes “Rot in Hell” instead.
The earliest incarnation of the band formed in 1983. The name VOMIT was first used in 1985 and marked the beginning of their extreme metal sound. VOMIT later morphed into the Punk band “Børre og Bløderne” and continued to release material under that name. The two bands also existed in parallel until VOMIT split-up around 1988-89. Parts of the band later reformed as Kvikksølvguttene. It was an attempt to recreate the trio version of VOMIT. Kittil Kittelsen switched from bass to guitar and Necrobutcher of Mayhem took over the bass duties.
As every release by Misantrof ANTIRecords, STILL ROTTING can be downloaded for free from the band’s Misantrof page in it’s complete and original form 100% legally. The release can be freely copied and shared by the general public for non commercial purposes and is protected by The Creative Commons – Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Unported license. The download includes digital audio, cover artwork, press release and more info.

In case you’re not familiar with the concept of “Freebie of the Week”, here’s a brief explanation… Each week I go on a little hunt through the vast wastelands of the Internet in search of FREE and LEGAL downloads. So, all of the downloads featured here will be obtainable through trustworthy means… and they’ll be guilt-free. For example, I will only ever feature music available from official band websites, profiles (such as MySpace, Reverbnation or Facebook) and Last.fm (or equivalent).

I really can’t believe that I haven’t posted this on the site already – I must be slacking! But, better late than never… Episode 13 are offering up a fantastic slab of Black Metal for FREE! Just click here to visit their page on Misantrof ANTIRecords to download it. You can also have a listen to it via the SoundCloud player below:
Info:
Episode 13 was formed in June 2001 by Ozan (vocals), Murat (guitars) and Can (drums). Since then the band has released the 2-track demo CD “Expected Damnation” (2003), a Split EP with Sadistic Spell (2003), and three full-length albums – “Tabula Rasa” in 2005, “Pitch Black” in 2008 and the new album “Death Reclaims the Earth” in 2010. Many Episode 13 tracks are regularly played on radio stations internationally, and the band features on compilation CDs both at home and abroad.
As with most bands, a few line up changes have taken place over the years. Bassist Meric quit the band and was replace by Sermet, while vocal duties were temporarily handled by former Whitchtrap front man Tolgahan, who fills in for Ozan on “Pitch Black”. Murat, who was rarely able to perform live with the band during 2010 leaves due to personal commitments.
Following a 2-year break, founder member & vocalist Ozan Akyol returned to the band in 2008 and former Astral Division guitarist Serkan is added to the line up, and work commences on the third full length album “Death Reclaims the Earth”.
On the 3rd October 2010, “Death Reclaims the Earth” is released on Norway’s Misantrof ANTIRecords, the label founded and headed by Carpathian Forest bassist Daniel Vrangsinn. It is an album that sees the band making its strongest statement yet in terms of musical direction, performance and commitment to producing dark, intense, intelligent, misanthropic Black Metal, and is available for free download directly from Misantrof at episode13.misantrof.net
EPISODE 13 has toured in Russia, Finland, Denmark, Netherlands and the Ukraine, and performs regularly at national and international festivals, including the 2009 Inferno Festival in Oslo, Norway and the 2010 Infernal Damnation Festival in London.
The band is managed by Patricia Thomas, the UK based manager who works both with some of the legendary bands and artists of the Black and Extreme Metal scenes such as Maniac (Skitliv, ex-Mayhem), Nattefrost, Carpathian Forest, Niklas Kvarforth (Shining) as well as some of the best upcoming bands of today.
